Founding Purpose and Objectives

Founded and formed in 2019, Richmond Pride produced the first LGBTQIA+ Pride Festival in Richmond Kentucky on the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots on New York’s Christopher Street. Richmond Pride incorporated in 2022 and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the state of Kentucky.

We are funded by philanthropic individuals and corporations, as well as via event booth rentals, fundraising and sponsorships. We value our community partners that allow us to bring joy and safety, in a welcoming environment, to our beautiful town. Our funds allow us a philanthropic approach to community events, while also allowing us to distribute support and guidance within the LGBTQIA+ community at large in Central Kentucky.

We strive to bring together the skills, talents, and visions of our diverse community through numerous programs and events throughout the year. These programs support the advancement of our mission to foster pride, equality, and respect for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities locally, nationally, and globally.

We are a community worth celebrating each and every day.
